Top 6 Jobs For 14-15 Year Olds

April 12th, 2010 by MacStore

When you are 14, you may need more pocket money to buy what you like. But ,how can you earn money? so, you must get a job, not only for money, but also for experience. According to Child Labor, it’s not so easy to find a job for age under 16. How to find Jobs for 14 Year Olds? if you’d like, I’ll tell you the jobs you can get and how to earn money .

Teen Writer

If you are talented in writing, you could be a teen writer. And, you can get paid from magazines or websites. If you are not good at writing, you can practice writing. Write whatever you feel like writing, whether it be teen fiction or anything else. It really doesn’t matter what you write, as long as you’re writing.

How to start? You can try to start out writing for your school paper (articles, opinions or short stories). You could also try submitting to local writers’ club anthologies & teen magazines often have a reader submissions section for poems, short stories, etc. These won’t be paying jobs, but they might get you noticed. Also, if you are good at basic copywriting & layout, you can get people to pay you to prep their resumes. You’d be surprised how many people can’t manage that on their own.

Babysitter

How can you get a babysitting job? it is not difficult to get one , just give it some time. Make flyers and put them around your church or community. If you have any daycares around your neighborhood you might want to advertise there. Sittercity.com is a great place where you register and parents looking for babysitters look at your profile and can contact you.

In order to be successful in the babysitting business you need to know the following tips, hints, and tricks. When you’re ready to go in the babysitting business, don’t be afraid to ask questions about the child you will be caring for; always be prepared. Walk through the house and do a safety check. Close the doors to rooms you don’t want the children in. Look for hazards such as matches, hanging electrical cords, medications or other things children can get hurt with or get into trouble with. The most important thing is that keep an eye on the kids, and don’t get distracted.

Camp Counselor

For getting a job as a camp counselor, you can try your local YMCA.They may still have openings for summer counselors or assistants. Otherwise, go to your neighborhood boys and girls club. It helps to have those certifications and some do require CPR.

Although the minimum age requirement for many camp counselor jobs is 16,but if you do not meet the minimum age requirement to become a summer camp counselor, you might have the opportunity to apply for the counselor-in-training program or junior counselor positions.

As a C.I.T. (Counselor in training), you would be working but not get paid. Or even, you have to pay for your work(not all camps). It seems very unfair, the camp charges you to work there! However,it’s a great way to spend the summer instead of sitting home all day, and you will be paid when you are old enough.

Be a Tutor

If you have a good understanding of one subject, you can find a job as a tutor.Try go to your local youth center. Many youth centers pay tutors for math, English, History and Science in their after-school programs.

If you’d like, ask your counselor at school if they pay tutors for after-school programs at your school.

Also, you can advertise on your own and once you get a following the word of mouth referrals will start coming in quickly. You should advertise your offer in places where parents will see the advertisement. The parents are your clients.

Grocery Bagger

More and more supermarkets and grocery have opened up in the past decade. So, they often need many part-time or full time baggers. If you’d like, you can get extra money as a bagger.

Apply to the store or stores you are interested in working at.You can call them, and ask if they need a bagger.Of course, you can also go to store to ask one by one in person.Usually, you will find a job soon.

Lifeguard

Find a lifeguard class in your area. Most lifeguard training classes are often offered through the YMCA. If you can’t find one, call your local red cross and ask them. If you can’t find your local red cross, call a local pool and ask how they go about hiring lifeguards. They may have a private program. If you have a particular place you want to lifeguard, call them first to see if they have any special requirements.

Freebies That Help Teens

April 6th, 2010 by MacStore

A teen is looking for freedom and more time with friends than with family but at the same time is struggling to grab attention from their parents too. They want to be given the rights to decide what they want in life but still look to their parents for buying them everything they need. It is only natural. It is for the parents of teens to decide how much to let go and how much to hold onto their teens. It is a difficult time but not to forget it is also the time when a child’s character is built. It is during this period that a sense of responsibility needs to be instilled into teens.

You might be wondering the relevance of freebies to instilling a sense of responsibility into teens. The bright side of using freebies is that it involves no money. So allowing teens to make decisions on what they need to use and what they should not use is not that big a risk when it comes to freebies. More importantly freebies today are not just restricted to products available online that teen can make use of. It might interest many a teen that freebies also provide means and ways to earn money online. This may involve ways to earn money online or also companies that advertise their requirements online for potential work. This is a great means to allow teens to earn money on their own and then decide how to spend it. It is often said that you learn the worth of money only when you have earned it. And so it is with teens also. Allowing them the liberty to earn money and then giving them the freedom to think how they should spend it. This automatically gives them a sense of responsibility towards the money they have earned and helps instill in them the habit of spending money wisely and also teaches them how to save money. This will however help them in the future making them responsible and sensible.

Parents on the other hand should always encourage their teens to try new things and help teens with their problems whenever they are stuck with a problem. Advising them in a friendly manner will also help them in choosing the right way of working and saving money. Another important aspect of a growing teen is their future education. For a teen the most confusing and important decision is the making the choice of which college to attend and which course to pick among the numerous courses made available to them. You may find it surprising that freebies play a role in this too. There are a lot of websites out there that offer freebie packages that will allow you to view the colleges you are considering joining as a teen and also give you brief insights into the course you are planning to take up. What better way to make that important decision than to see the college you are planning to join in the confines of your own house and there is definitely no better way to zero in on a course than read through all the material provided on it.

The message we are trying to give out here is that freebies are not just fun all the way. Freebies for teens have a serious side to them too. It depends on what you choose to view and how best to use what you are being given for free. By making such opportunities online companies and institutions are really making an effort to make things better for teens. Giving teens methods to earn money online is an excellent way to put them on the path of responsibility. Giving them the freedom to choose how to spend their hard earned money is without doubt the best way to help teens grow up. Helping tens choose their future course of education and institutes they want to pursue their education in is a way of securing their future. All in all freebies are turning out to be a teen’s best friend!

March 28th, 2010 by MacStore

Teenage is a time to explore and to try out new styles, be it in clothes, look or even accessories. Hair cuts and hair styles are much experimented during teenage. Youth is the vibrance of life and missing out in trying styles is certainly not recommended. Teens are the days of glory and humming about the joy of life. One is usually surrounded with friends and much influenced by the media and fashion magazines. While it is a good idea to flip through glossies to understand the trends, a unique style about yourself should be adopted especially so in a hairstyle.

If you are just out of school and wish a makeover then funky styles of the eighties might seem attractive to you in the poodle curls. Curls will never go out of fashion and one could experiment with permanent perms and hair colouring. The hair colour you choose could in funky reds or blondes depending on your skin tone. Again funky styles are not difficult to maintain but conditioning the hair after a shampoo is a must. One could also go for spiral curls on long hair. Goldilocks kind of hairstyle is a high maintenance job.

There are simple styles in being natural with your hair. Funky hair colours can happen during a disco party or theme based events like the carnival. For a party use temporary colours in different mixes and voluminise the hair. The look of the sixties in shoulder length with a side parting hair and a out turn can be adopted. Lifestyle preference is much about teenage hairstyle. There are unique styles too in braiding the hair and colouring the same. Afro hairstyles look great but are prone to frizz and dry hair. Hence hair care becomes essential. Spikes can be set while the hair is wet.

Go for short chic hair cut and a funky look with anklets and nose rings. Get a tattoo or nail paint for a sure style statement. Grunge look is common about youth and college times. Coordinating the entire look for a teenager is easy and one could have an all purpose hairstyle in medium length that can easily oscillate from a classy party hair style to a everyday messy-open-hair kind of a look. Pink and purple hair colours for the rock star kind of image.

Retro styles are catching up with choker neckpieces and rock stones as fingerings. Use hair accessories and scrunchies in fluorescent colours. Keep a high pony tail for summers and use wavy layered hairstyles for evening outs. It is surely not a criteria to worry about a bad hair cut or short hair because teenage is identical with hair growth and healthy hair. Keep hair dandruff free and frizz free and live life to the fullest with a unique hairstyle.

Trendy hairstyles for teens can jazz up any look and any haircut. Short haircuts, long haircuts, bob haircuts and wavy hair, all can be beautified with a range of hairstyles.
